SUmmer school in novi sad

The host of this year's DAFM Summer School „Regenerative Agriculture for Climate-Resilient Food Systems” held between June 29th – July 3rd, 2026 was the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. This important event was organized for the 4th generation of students of the DAFM joint degree master's study programme within the DAFM Erasmus Mundus project, in which the Faculty of Agriculture participates as a partner institution in the DAFM consortium. The summer school was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Mila Grahovac, Vice Dean for Science and International Relations. DAFM Summer School was attended by 45 students from 17 countries. This year’s Summer School also gathered together 20 lecturers from 6 partner universities presented presented to the students the latest research findings in their scientific fields of work. DAFM 4th intake students were also hosted by the representatives of the Student Parliament who showed them the campus of the University in Novi Sad, and students had a chance to get to know Novi Sad and its vibrant atmosphere, and carry the their impressions around the world.
 
During the DAFM Summer School 2026 in Novi Sad, students joined the excursion to see regenerative agriculture in practice.  They had the opportunity to visit “Ganeza d.o.o.” the company from Kanjiža (SRB). Accompanied by an agronomist, they visited production fields where regenerative agriculture is applied. They also had the opportunity to see the process of drying and processing herbs.

The host of this year's DAFM Summer School in the period 29.06. - 03.07.2026. is the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture. This important event is organized for the 4th generation of students of the DAFM joint degree master's study programme. The summer school was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Mila Grahovac, Vice Dean for Science and International Relations. DAFM Summer School is attended by 45 students from 17 countries. The representatives of the Student Parliament showed the guests the campus of the University in Novi Sad, and in the following days they will have the opportunity to get to know Novi Sad and carry the most beautiful impressions around the world.

XXIV. International scientific conference of bachelor´s and master´s degree students was held 23th April 2026 Nitra, Slovakia. Three DAFM students, currently at 2nd year of study programme at Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. They presented following abstracts:

Participation in the conference was excellent experiences for students and opportunity to develop themselves. After their presentation they addressed to many questions from the other participants. In general, students were very good evaluated by the organising committee.

​Application deadline of non- EU applicants has been passed.
All the applications are now prescreened and will be evaluated soon. Results and notifications expectable at the end of the week.
Interviews will be held on 10th of March for every chosen applicant, information about the schedule will be shared at the latest on 6th of March.

DAFM Project Presented at Christmas Research Innovation Street@UNSFA

​The DAFM project was presented during Christmas Research Innovation Street@UNSFA event, held at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture on December 22, 2025.
This event gathered over 150 participants and 38 international R&Dprojects. Visitors could disseminate project results, exchange valuable ideas and experiences among various project teams. Students had an opportunity to talk to the DAFM UNS team in person, ask different questions and to get detailed information on the programme and its curriculum.
During the networking session, participants played games and spent quality time together in the festive atmosphere.

DAFM Students Participated in Expert Lectures – January 13, 2026

On January 13, 2026, DAFM students participated in a series of expert lectures delivered by distinguished professors from Serbian universities. Prof. Milivoj Radojčin (University of Novi Sad) presented topics on Introduction to Fruit Drying and Thermodynamics of Moist Air, providing insights into drying technologies and fundamental process principles.
Prof. Aleksandra Djukić-Vuković (University of Belgrade) delivered lectures on Biorefinery Concepts and Production of Bio-based Chemicals from Lignocellulose and Lactic Acid Fermentation for Processing of Food Industry By-products, highlighting sustainable approaches and innovative biotechnological solutions.
The lectures enriched students’ knowledge and strengthened the link between academic research and practical applications in food and bioprocess engineering.

​Panel discussion on future of education held at University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture on 29th May 2025. Faculty representatives, researchers, and student consultants came together for a panel discussion moderated by DAFM student Timea Varga, marking the beginning of an ongoing dialogue on adapting higher education to meet evolving needs.
Key Focus Areas were:
  • Insights from DAFM student research on learning experiences
  • Perspectives from distinguished panellists from across the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture
  • Together they explored practical experience, curriculum adaptation, new teaching methods and how to adapt them to the needs of the new generation
This event is part of a larger student-driven research initiative in collaboration with IVCG, aimed at shaping a more responsive, innovative learning environment. With faculty and students working together, feedback is transformed into actionable strategies for future improvements.
