Danube AgriFood Master – DAFM students participated in online 90 INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTIST AND STUDENTS - "Youth scientific achievements to the 21st century nutrition problem solution". This conference was organized 11 – 12 April 2024 by National University of Food Technologies in Kiev, Ukraine (https://conference.nuft.edu.ua/young/index.html). Three students presented results of their study – 1. Bint e Hawa: A comparative analysis of nutritional composition and bioactive properties between edible larval and adult mealworms. 2. Jawa Hassan: Determination of nutritional properties and biological activity of some traditional Syrian sweets. 3. Emmanuel Duah Osei: Phytochemical composition of Coffea canephora Pierre ex a. Froehner from Ghana. Participation in the conference was excellent experiences for students and opportunity to develop themselves. After their presentation they addresed to many questions from the other participants. In general, students were very good evaluated by the organising committee. On April 18th, 2024. five DAFM study program students participated in XXII. INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF BACHELOR’S AND MASTER’S DEGREE STUDENTS (https://svk.fbp.uniag.sk/program-programme), which was organised by Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. In section Control and Safety of Food Chain Emmanuel Duah Osei presented the results with topic Bio-chemical and organoleptic profile of roasted and unroasted Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner and Shahid Ali Tahir with topic Variability of the content of risk metals, total content of polyphenols and antioxidant activity in legumes grown in Piešťany locality. In section Innovations and Trends in the Food Technology presented results Anthony Amotoe-Bondzie with topic Characterization of soy curd residue and full-fat soy flour as protein-based food ingredients, Jawa Hassan with topic Nutritional and antioxidant profile of some traditional Syrian confectionery and Bint e Hawa with topic Edible insects as a perspective alternative food source for future. Participation was also very successful experience, since Anthony Amotoe-Bondzie won the second place for the best presentation and Emmanuel Duah Osei won the award for best scientific work with practical application. We congratulate to students and wish them successful participation in further conferences as well as in their scientific life.
